Tribute to Latino Filmmakers Day
Tuesday, March 18th & Wednesday, March 19th
The WSIFF will honor and celebrate Latino filmmaking by dedicating two days of our festival to screen films made by the Hispanic and Latino community. Films such as “La Reina de la Noche” , “Bella”, and “Solo Dios Sabe” are examples of outstanding cinema made by Hispanic directors.
Presentation of Life Time Achievement Awad to Arturo Ripstein
Tuesday, March 18th at 9:30pm
Directly following screening of “La Reina de la Noche” The WSIFF will host an awards ceremony for Arturo Ripstein in which he will be the recipient of the Life Time Achievement Award. |

Thursday, March 20th
The WSIFF will honor and celebrate filmmaking in New Mexico by dedicating one day of our festival to screening films shot in New Mexico. Films such as “Seraphim Falls” “Around the Bend” and “American Dream” showcase New Mexican scenery and culture.

Taste of Otero County
Friday, March 21st 4-6PM
Every year, the festival hosts “The Taste of Otero County” which features cuisine from select restaurants located in Otero County. Festival participants have the opportunity to sample dishes made by Otero County chefs. This is a fun and much anticipated event and has become a WSIFF tradition.

High School Competition & Workshop
Saturday, March 22 10am-3pm
Held at the New Mexico Museum of Space History, the WSIFF High School Workshop will offer students a chance to learn acting and directing by two working professionals in their field. Dr. Sam Smiley will teach directing, Jamison Jones will teach acting. The official High School Film selections and High School Competition winner will be screened at Allen Theaters following the workshop at 4pm. |
WSIFF Filmmaker Lounge
EVERYDAY!
Located at the WSIFF main venue Allen Theatres, the WSIFF will provide a coffee lounge for filmmakers and festival goers to relax, meet and network before and after screenings. Coffee & Snacks provided. |
WSIFF Parties
EVERYDAY!
Every night the WSIFF will host VIP parties. These parties will allow the opportunity to network,make new contacts, meet friends , eat , drink, relax, and have fun! Venues held at The Spencer Theater in Ruidoso and the beautiful private residences of Bobby Martinez, Jim Klump and Randy Rabon. All events open to WSIFF Platinum Pass holders. Opening & Closing Night Open to Gold Pass holders as well.
